Blank, Frozen or Flashing ScreenUpdated a year ago
A blank, frozen, or flashing screen can indicate one or multiple issues. Four things to observe:
- Initial screen state (on or off, blinking or frozen)
- Screen state after rotating knob (on/off, responsive or not)
- Solid red light on the left side of the machine (Power)
- Blinking blue light on the left side of the machine (Logic)
Return to a blank screen that is responsive to knob rotation
For protection, the machine has an internal reset. This can be triggered by electrical noise/power surge. When a reset occurs, it returns to an idle state and will go into sleep mode (nothing is displayed on the screen). If you return to your machine after starting a run and the screen is blank, open the lid and remove the tray's contents. There may be partial cubes or just water in the tray. Recommendations to alleviate this problem:
- Change wall outlets/breakers.
- Use a surge protector.
- Power cycle your machine by unplugging it for a few hours
- Move the machine to a cooler environment.
If your machine encounters this issue multiple runs in a row, please don't hesitate to reach out for additional support.
Return to a frozen screen that is unresponsive to knob rotation
If communication between the main driver board and the screen gets interrupted, the machine can become frozen. The machine process is still running, but the screen does not update the status properly. If you encounter this issue, power cycle your machine by unplugging it for a few hours. If your machine encounters this issue multiple times in a row, please reach out for additional support.
