Cloudy IceUpdated 2 months ago
Behavior
- Cloudy ice can present itself in two ways when using the Klaris:
- The lower 1/3 of all cubes, or a single cube, is cloudy.
- Entire cube is cloudy.
Common Causes
- Bottom 1/3 cloudy
- High mineral content in water source.
- Scale buildup on tray or inserts.
- Improper installation of inserts.
- Tray or insert deformation.
- Entire cube is cloudy
- Water not filled to the “Fill Line.”
- Mixer motor not spinning freely.
- Leaky tray.
Things to Try
- Bottom 1/3 cloudy
- Run a cycle with distilled water to rule out water quality issues.
- Wash tray and inserts with warm water and soap.
- Ensure each insert is fully seated at the bottom of the tray.
- Rotate the tray and/or inserts to see if cloudiness follows a particular orientation.
- Entire cube is cloudy
- Run a cycle with distilled water to rule out water quality issues.
- At the start of a cycle, listen for the lid motor and confirm it spins.
- Review the “Leaky Tray” article to confirm this is not the issue.
- Verify the water is filled to the “Fill Line,” not the cross beam of the tray.
- If issues persist, please contact support at [email protected].
