Craft Ice StorageUpdated 2 months ago

After a batch is made, proper storage is important to preserve clarity and prevent cubes from sticking together or breaking. When ready to use ice after storage, temper the ice to prevent cracking.

Things to Consider

  • Store cubes in a container, such as the Klaris storage container, to maintain quality and make removal easier. Ice stored in plastic bags tends to freeze together and break apart when separated.
  • Use cubes within a few weeks for best results, though when stored properly they can stay clear for months or even years.
  • Moisture left on cubes before freezing can create frosty surfaces. To reduce frost, dry cubes with a towel before freezing (optional).
  • Let cubes temper at room temperature before adding to drinks to remove frost, prevent cracking, and enhance clarity.
