Ice is Difficult to Remove from the TrayUpdated 2 months ago
Behavior
- When harvesting the ice from the tray, excessive force should not be used as this could damage the tray. If the cubes feel stuck, do not force it and allow to thaw for 2-3 minutes before trying again.
Common Causes
- To keep ice after formation, the cubes must be held just below freezing. This causes them to bond more tightly to the tray. To remove the cubes, a thin melt layer needs to form between the ice and the tray, which makes release easier.
Things to Try
- Allow 2-3 minutes for the tray and ice to acclimate to ambient temperature before trying to remove.
- Run water over tray for 10-20 seconds then retry.
