Leaky TrayUpdated 2 months ago
Behavior
- A leaky tray can result in water escaping into the freeze chamber before, during or after an ice making cycle. Symptoms can include:
- Excessive water/ice in the freeze chamber after each cycle.
- Tray requires excessive force or long thaw times to remove.
- Cloudy ice and/or no water pool on top of cubes at the end of a run.
- Ice overgrowth into the mixer or sensor.
Common Causes
- Damage due to excessive force during removal from freeze chamber.
- Damage due to excessive force or sharpe fingernails during removal of ice.
Things to Try
- Benchtop test to validate leaky tray:
- Dry the outside of the tray completely.
- Fill the tray with water to the “Fill Line.”
- Place the tray on a dry paper towel.
- After 2 hours, check for moisture:
- If the towel is wet, inspect the tray further for a leak.
- If confirmed, contact support for a replacement tray (within the 3-month accessory warranty) or purchase a replacement tray from the store.
- If leaks or removal issues occur repeatedly, please contact customer support for assistance.
