Lid is Difficult to OpenUpdated 2 months ago

Behavior 

  • The lid should open smoothly with little to no resistance. If the lid feels stuck, do not force it open. This may indicate ice overgrowth around the mixer or the temperature sensor mounted in the lid and could cause damage to components if forced open. 

Common Causes 

  • Ice overgrowth into the mixer or sensor area
  • Excess moisture freezing in the lid or chamber area

Things to Try 

  • Unplug the machine
  • Allow the machine to thaw until the lid opens easily (this may take up to 24 hours)
  • Remove the tray and dispose of contents, completely dry the freeze chamber, and start another run
