Long Freeze TimesUpdated a year ago

Freeze times should fall within the 8-12 hour window when the machine is run at an ambient temperature of about 70°F. Under normal operation, the machine should run within +/—30 minutes of previous runs. A hotter ambient temperature will lead to longer freeze times. During the summer, the observed freeze time can increase by up to 3 hours from normal run times, even with the air conditioning set to 70°F.

If longer freeze times without any environmental change have occurred, here are some things to try:

  • Ensure at least 8” of clearance on all sides of the machine
  • Do not place the machine in direct sunlight
  • Avoid rooms/areas with warmer temperatures, drafts, or large temperature fluctuations
  • Use pre-cooled water from the fridge to reduce cycle times by 30-45 minutes

To learn more about the effects of ambient temperature on the machine, read our blog on Ambient Temperature and Freeze Times.

If freeze times consistently exceed 12 hours after these considerations, please reach out for additional support.

* Note: Various tray shapes may yield different times (Internal testing showing ~1 hour longer for Collins cube trays)
