Mixer Frozen AlarmUpdated a year ago

The “Mixer Frozen” alarm will display when the water mixing motor inside the lid is inhibited in some way from spinning correctly. To clear the alarm, press the knob on top twice or power cycle the machine. If the lid does not open easily, do not force the lid open. Allow any overgrown ice to thaw before opening the lid.

There are three leading causes of a mixer frozen alarm:

  1. Ice Overgrowth
  2. Mixer Interference due to an object such as the inserts
  3. An internal motor/electrical issue

 Things to try:

  • Ensure no ice is in the tray before starting a cycle.  Starting a cycle with ice in the tray can lead to overgrowth. If this occurs, the lid may be difficult to open.  DO NOT FORCE OPEN (see "lid difficult to open" for more details).
  • Verify that the plastic inserts are fully seated at the bottom of the silicone tray and that the tray is seated correctly in the ice machine's freeze chamber.
  • With the machine unplugged, verify the mixer/impeller can be freely spun by hand.
  • During a cycle, listen for any abnormal noises or lack of noise from the mixer- there should be a consistent mixer sound 30 seconds after startup.

If this error occurs multiple times in a row, please get in touch with customer support for further assistance.
