Partial Cubes or No Ice is MadeUpdated 2 months ago
Behavior
- The machine runs a cycle and when the ice harvesting occurs, there is no ice or ice cubes that are <1.5” inches in height.
Common Causes
- Partial Cubes
- Machine operating in an environment that is too hot.
- Insufficient ventilation around the machine.
- Intermittent stoppage of the mixer during operation.
- Lid opened during the freezing cycle.
- Ice left in the machine too long after the cycle is complete.
- Internal cooling mechanism issue.
- No Ice
- Ice left in the machine too long after the cycle is complete.
- Blank screen or machine reset during the cycle.
- Internal cooling mechanism issue.
- Intermittent stoppage of the mixer during operation.
Things to Try
- Partial Cubes
- Move the machine to a cooler environment.
- Avoid areas with direct sunlight or large changes in temperature.
- Ensure >8” of space on all sides of the machine.
- Ensure cycle is running 8-12 hours before displaying Ice Ready. Much shorter cycle times may be an indication of a sensor/mixer issue.
- Inspect the ice sensor and insulated sleeve in the lid (next to the mixer fan) for damage or gaps.
- Avoid opening the lid during the “Freezing” cycle.
- Harvest ice within 0–2 hours of the “Ice Ready” phase.
- No Ice
- Empty all contents from the tray and verify no ice produced. Water on top at end of the process can be deceptive but is part of normal operation.
- Check for Timeout alarms or blank screen resets (see related entries).
- Verify the cooling system is functioning properly.
